The AP mount is a versatile and lightweight travel mount designed to provide stable and secure support for your telescope, making it ideal for both beginners and advanced observers on the go. Its collapsible, modular design can be dismantled quickly and easily, perfect for air travel or transport. Featuring a built-in slip clutch mechanism, the mount allows smooth, manual fine adjustments without the need for loosening clamps, enabling quick and effortless targeting of celestial objects even in the dark.
Designed with style and functionality in mind, the AP mount boasts an ultra-smooth finish with no protruding parts, enhancing ease of use and portability. For precise polar alignment, an optional illuminated polar finder scope lets you align the telescope using three reference stars—even when the celestial pole is obscured by trees or buildings. This polar finder automatically switches off after three minutes to conserve battery life.
The mount’s motor modules for RA and DEC axes can be powered by standard AA batteries or an external USB power supply, allowing extended observation sessions without interruption. For more advanced control, the optional STAR BOOK ONE control module offers multifunctional tracking with various speeds suitable for sidereal, lunar, and solar rates, alongside features such as backlash compensation, an autoguider port, and a built-in red LED light for nighttime use.
Complementing the mount is the compact APP-TL130 tripod, adjustable from 60 to 130 cm. It combines the portability of a camera tripod with the durability needed for astronomical use, featuring interchangeable rubber and metal spikes to protect indoor flooring.
With a total weight of just 14.3 kg, the AP mount system delivers portability, precision, and convenience—making it a perfect travel companion for high-quality ED refractor telescopes and all your stargazing adventures.
