Description
The Vixen SLV eyepieces with high-quality lanthanum glass deliver remarkably clear and high-contrast star images right up to the edge. This 2.5mm is the most powerful in the range and aimed at those with shorter focal length telescopes, who need higher powers for lunar or planetary use, or double star observers, who need the maximum power possible for star separation. Please make sure you look at the powers that this eyepiece can give with various telescopes carefully, as this eyepiece can produce some very impressive results if paired well with a telescope, but can overpower longer instruments very easily.
Power ranges by focal lengths:
300mm focal length telescope produces 120x magnification
500mm focal length telescope produces 200x magnification
1000mm focal length telescope produces 400x magnification
1500mm focal length telescope produces 600x magnification
2000mm focal length telescope produces 820x magnification
The lenses are all fully multi-coated for high-light transmission. Thanks to the large eye relief distance of 20 mm, the eye won't be fatigued even during longer observing sessions. Even those who have to wear glasses will have the entire field clearly visible to them. This eyepiece's twist-up eyecups can be turned up or down to the user's preference to set a comfortable observing height.
